The IRM One-Month Autism Treatment Plan: A Week-by-Week Breakdown

Deciding to pursue an intensive, one-month autism treatment plan in another country is a major life decision. It can feel overwhelming, and it’s natural to wonder, “What will our daily life actually look like?”

At the Institute for Regenerative Medicine (IRM), our program is not a single injection. It’s a comprehensive, highly structured, and integrated process. Knowing what to expect stem cell treatment-wise can help reduce anxiety and allow you to focus on your child’s healing.

Here is a clear, week-by-week breakdown of the one-month IRM protocol.

Day 1: The Foundation & Baseline

Your first day is dedicated to consultations, assessments, and ensuring all medicals are in order. This day sets the foundation for your entire treatment.

  • Consultation with Stem Cell Consultant: You will have an in-depth meeting with our medical consultant to review your child’s medical history, ask any final questions, and confirm the details of the stem cell therapy process.
  • Therapist Consultations: You will meet one-on-one with the key therapists on your child’s team, including the speech and behavioral therapists, as well as the nutrition therapist to establish a “baseline”.
  • Initial Blood Tests: A blood draw is performed to get a comprehensive metabolic panel. This confirms your child’s overall health and readiness for the procedures.

Week 1: Systemic Healing & Integration

With the groundwork laid, the therapy begins immediately. The focus of this first week is to begin the systemic healing process and integrate your child into the daily therapy routine.

  • First IV Stem Cell Session: Your child will receive their first administration of fresh, umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) via an intravenous (IV) drip to begin calming systemic inflammation.
  • Allied Therapies Begin: The day after the infusion, your child begins their full, intensive schedule of allied therapies including daily sessions of speech therapy, behavioral therapy, and cold laser therapy.

Week 2: The Targeted Neurological Push

This week is typically when the most targeted medical procedure occurs, supported by the now-established therapy routine.

  • Intrathecal (IT) or IV Session: Your child will receive their second, primary stem cell administration. For many, this is the optional intrathecal (lumbar puncture) administration for maximum impact on the central nervous system.
  • Continued Intensive Therapies: The daily schedule of 18 speech sessions and 18 behavioral sessions continues, along with supportive therapies, creating a powerful synergy.

Week 3: Reinforcement & Building Momentum

The third week is focused on reinforcing the biological gains and building upon the therapeutic momentum from the previous two weeks.

  • Third IV Stem Cell Session: Your child will receive a third and final IV “booster” administration. This session helps to reinforce the anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects.
  • Final Intensive Therapy Sessions: The therapists work to solidify the gains made during the month. By this point, many children are calmer and more receptive, allowing for significant progress.

Final Consultation: The Hand-Off

Your last day is dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition back home.

  • Final Consultation & Discharge: You will have a final meeting with the medical consultant to discuss the procedures, your child’s progress, and any after-care instructions.
  • Receive Your Home Plan: You will be given a comprehensive discharge summary, your cell Quality Control reports, and a customized Home Plan for continuing diet, supplements, and therapies at home.

This structured autism treatment plan is designed to maximize every single day, layering biological healing with active therapeutic training to create the best possible outcome and a new foundation for your child’s future.
